Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice
Yellow and Amber weather warnings for wind have been issued by the Met Office for this week with the warnings coming into effect from Wednesday 16.02.2022.These warnings cover the ports of Grangemouth, Liverpool, Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway.High winds expected up to 90MPH will hit Scotland and the North of England first before traveling down the country and impacting on ports located further to the South. The ports will cease crane and port operations once windspeeds reach 45 mph. We are likely to see slower turnaround times on the port or closures if windspeeds exceed 45 mph. With high windspeeds being forecast ports may reclaim Vehicle Booking Slots meaning hauliers will not be able to collect containers as planned or return them which could result in additional charges being applied. We are working closely with our hauliers to mitigate any delays to scheduled deliveries and should your shipments be directly affected we will advise you accordingly. If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.Useful Links:https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/02/13/storm-dudley-could-bring-90mph-gusts-heavy-rain/https://www.independent.co.uk/weather/uk-weather-wind-forecast-alert-storm-dudley-b2014173.htmlhttps://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2022-02-16
