Mersey Port Strike

Trade Unions have voted in favour of strike actionWe have received word from Mersey Port Authority that members of UNISON, GMB, Unite and NUT have voted in favour of industrial action and as a consequence strike action is planned for Thursday 10th July 2014.There is the potential that the services provided by Mersey Port Health Authority may be affected due to industrial action taken by its members. The Authority will do its utmost to ensure that where possible services are provided uninterrupted, and operations continue, however, there is the possibility that delays may be experienced. In order to reduce and minimise any potential delays, it would be appreciated if you could consider the following:-> Where Ship Sanitation Certificate Inspections or water samples are requested, if there is the possibility for the inspection to be conducted on an alternative day or days, could you provide the dates and times of when the vessel will be available?> For imported food checks, it would be appreciated if you could ensure that any documentation or information that has been requested or is required to enable the processing and release of consignments, is provided at the earliest opportunity.Should you have any questions or wish to discuss this further with a member of our team, please do not hesitate to contact us.
