Major disruption at Calais
Customs officers began their protest on Monday 04.03.19 to press their demands for higher pay and demonstrate what will happen if greater controls are put in place once the UK leaves the European Union.
They are carrying out tighter checks on lorries heading for the Channel Tunnel and the ferry port which has seen traffic build up on the motorways around Calais and the surrounding areas.
Dunkirk, further up the French coast, is also affected.
Trucks and lorries have experienced serious delays since Monday and at this stage, there is no indication to when this stance will end.
With a higher demand of cargo currently being imported in the UK at present, we are also witnessing delays due to backlogs at most major European ports.
During the disruption please consider slightly longer transit times.
We will be utilising all methods of transport to deliver your goods at the earliest opportunity.
