High Winds Forecast
High Winds are forecast across the UK for the next few days which could result in the ports ceasing operations if wind speeds exceed 45 mph.Yellow weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued by the Met Office for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England. These warnings come into effect on Friday and Saturday with smaller warnings being in place today for parts of Wales, Scotland and the North of England.As with the Storms Ciara and Dennis over the past few weeks, this could impact on all ports in the UK as crane and port operations will cease once wind speeds reach 45 mph.Port Closures may have an impact on deliveries, vessels discharging cargo and container restitution.
