Cyclone Biparjoy

Cyclone Biparjoy is due to make landfall in the next two days on the west coast of India.The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) have predicted that the storm is likely to head north until 14 June and then move further inland towards the region of Gujarat and Pakistan, possibly reaching speeds up to 150KPH.Heavy rains are expected on the west coast of India and the adverse weather conditions could result in delays to shipments from this part of the world. Evacuations in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa are anticipated with authorities on stand-by.The cyclone is expected to hit the Gujarat coast on 15th June approximately 135 kms from Mundra. Vessel arrivals will be delayed and impacts on schedule will be announced once the storm has abated.Delays at ports, such as Mundra, are expected because of the operational constraints caused by these conditions.Internal Port Movements inside the terminal are continuing, at this time, but all trains arriving or departing have been suspended.Please be assured, our origin counterparts are working closely with the ports and carriers to ensure delays are mitigated as much as possible.If your consignments have been directly affected by this, we will advise you accordingly and if you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us.For more information on the flooding please visit the following links:https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-65874966
